Diabetes Self-Management Training (DSMT)

Hannibal Regional Diabetes Center offers a diabetes program that is recognized by the American Diabetes Association. Diabetes Self-Management Training (DSMT) teaches individuals with diabetes to cope with and manage their health. The program includes tips for eating healthy, being active, monitoring blood sugar, taking prescription drugs, and reducing risks of complications. Medical Nutrition Therapy & Nutrition Counseling

Nutrition is a critical component of the management of many chronic diseases and conditions. Hannibal Regional offers a variety of outpatient nutrition services for all ages (children to older adults).

Hannibal Regional's Diabetes Center can provide you with the education, support, and tools that you need to manage chronic conditions such as:

  • Eating Disorders
  • Food Allergies and Intolerances

Complimentary Services

Diabetes Support Group: Scheduled the first Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m. in the Courtyard CafĂ©.

Health Accountability Support Group: Meets every Thursday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in Hannibal Regional Hospital’s Sun Room (by the hospital front entrance).

Free Quarterly Diabetes Class: Meets the second Thursday of August, November, February and May from 5:30-6:30 PM in HRMG Conference Center.
